Qualifiying

Qualifying is a high-stakes shootout where the front row is earned, not given. Moving away from simple luck, this format is a full-lap time trial to see who can navigate the circuit in the fewest number of rolls. Strategy begins before the clock even starts: you must qualify on your intended race-start tyre compound, forcing a critical choice between the blistering speed of Softs and the reliable consistency of Hards. With track flags ignored, the noise is stripped away for a pure test of efficiency and pace. Every roll is a heartbeat—complete the lap with the lowest count to secure Pole Position and command the field into Turn 1.

Race Day

The Full Grand Prix is the definitive BRC experience, where raw speed takes a backseat to elite-level strategy and nerve. This is a tactical battle of attrition featuring Dynamic Weather and unpredictable Flag Events that can shift the lead in an instant. Drivers must navigate a single-die movement system heavily influenced by their choice of Soft, Hard, or Wet tyres, balancing the hunt for a +2 speed modifier against the constant threat of a costly lock-up. With a Mandatory Pit Window active between Laps 2 and 7, success demands more than just fast rolls—you must time your stops perfectly and react instantly if the Track State Card flips, turning a dry circuit into a rain-slicked challenge

For those looking for a high-octane, fast-paced session, the Sprint Race mode strips away the complexities of weather management for a pure dash to the finish. Designed for 2 players or quick-fire action when time if tight, this mode utilizes a two-dice movement system on a permanently dry track. choosing Soft tyres grants a massive movement modifier, but any roll of a 1 on either die triggers an immediate lock-up penalty It is the perfect challenge for drivers who want to test their luck and raw speed without the tactical overhead of a full Grand Prix

Fuel & Race Pace: The Power of 'The Push'

Fuel is your most precious currency. While Race Pace keeps you in the hunt, The Push allows you to burn extra fuel for a burst of speed. But power comes at a price. Exhausting your tank forces you into Limp Mode, where you’ll crawl cautiously at a fixed speed until you can reach the safety of the pits. Strategic Refuelling is your lifeline; choose between a lightning-fast Splash & Dash to get back in the fight or a Full Service to top off the tank for the final sprint. Every lap is a calculation: do you conserve for a final burst, or burn it all now and gamble on your pit window?

Meet the Designer

Hello, I’m Sam, and I've been obsessed with motorsport since my first trip to Silverstone at age seven. My passion grew from F1 to sim racing, quickly pulling me into the strategic world of IMSA and Le Mans.

That obsession, however, was always a bit individual. I wanted a way to share the thrill of racing with my friends and family—a wholesome experience away from screens. I found that the market lacked the right blend: games were either too simple or overly complex.

That challenge led to the creation of Board Racing Championship. It’s the blend of all the motorsport I love: strategic pit stops, wheel-to-wheel duels, and rules designed to recreate that tense, exciting disbelief when the winner crosses the line. I hope you enjoy racing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

A Note from the Designer: Why Dice?

Some gamers love “roll to move,” and some don’t — but we chose it for one simple reason: accessibility. We wanted a game that families and new players could grab, set up in minutes, and start racing without a 50-page manual. The core of the game is fast, fun, and easy to understand.

Even in the base game, there’s plenty of strategy. Choosing your tyres, timing your pit stops, reading the weather, and deciding when to attack or defend in overtakes all give players meaningful decisions. Every turn presents choices that can shift your position, even if the dice ultimately determine how far you move.

For players who crave more control and deeper tactics, that’s where Pro-Sim Mode comes in. While dice still decide movement, advanced rules let you manage fuel, tyre wear, and damage, turning each lap into a strategic puzzle.

Do you push hard, burning through fuel and tyres to stay at the front, knowing you’ll need extra pit stops? Or do you play the long game, pitting sparingly and managing resources to travel the shortest distance overall?

By adding fuel simulation, tyre compounds, and weather changes, the game evolves from a simple race into a tactical challenge.
